It is that time of year when we start to get into the holiday spirit. Halloween is almost a distant memory now that the blessings of Thanksgiving have come and gone. As the year comes to an end, we have such holidays as Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanza, and the anticipation of New Year’s—all enough to make anyone both excited and stressed all at once! I am certain that you and yours will be spreading the holiday cheer soon if you are not doing so already. There is no doubt that 2019 is drawing to a close, and during festive times like these, it can be poignant to reflect back and to give thanks and show appreciation, even in an age in which gratitude doesn’t always come easy. There are many benefits to being grateful, including the positive impact on both emotional and physical well-being—so let’s get in the spirit and show some love!
The mission of Contact Lens Spectrum is to provide authoritative, evidence-based clinical information to our readers, and we feel very fortunate to serve in this role. We are grateful for eyecare practitioners, who make up the majority of our reader base. We are thankful for our patients, whom we are honored to serve. We are grateful for our colleagues in industry, who supports us as we support them. And, we are grateful for the profession that we serve and for the field of contact lenses. So, before the season passes, take some time in your own environments to give gratitude to those around you. Happy holidays from all of us at Contact Lens Spectrum!
