ALCON INTRODUCES LATEST DRY EYE INNOVATION
Alcon has released its Systane iLux2 Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) Thermal Pulsation System. This handheld device utilizes new imaging technology to capture infrared photos and high-definition video of meibomian glands—and also provides treatment of MGD.
According to the company, this new addition to Alcon’s dry eye treatments allows ECPs to tailor MGD treatment to the needs of each patient in just eight to 12 minutes; ECPs can customize heat and compression across treatment zones that are easy to visualize. Patients can view their meibomian glands and see the need for treatment through infrared imaging. The device also provides high-definition video of the MGD treatment procedure.
By providing direct visualization of the disease, its treatment, and the procedure, the Systane iLux2 MGD Thermal Pulsation System can help ECPs strengthen their relationships with patients, Alcon shares. Call (800) 757-9785 or visit alcon.com . ■
OPTOORG DAILYLENS CONTACT LENS DISPENSER
After 15 years of wearing contact lenses, inventor Elizabeth Hunt developed OptoOrg, an affordable solution for organizing and storing daily contact lenses.
OptoOrg dispensers are easy to hang, load, and tear, according to the company. Featuring three compartments, one for storage and two for each eye, these dispensers can store six weeks of daily contact lenses that are easy to tear, as the compartment height lines up with the natural break on blister packs.
Additionally, 5% of profits go toward helping OneSight, the nonprofit “committed to eradicating the global vision care crisis.” Call (855) 952-6786 or visit optoorg.com . ■
HAAG-STREIT PRESENTS THE IMAGING MODULE 910
Haag-Streit has introduced a solution for the increasing demand for slit lamp documentation—the Imaging Module 910. Designed to deliver high-quality images while allowing ECPs to fully concentrate on examining their patients, the Imaging Module 910 works with the turn of a knob without having to operate software, shares the company.
The Imaging Module 910 is equipped with improved camera sensors and optics, smart background features such as performant auto-exposure mode and automatic aperture control, and an image selection algorithm that chooses the best image possible, shares Haag-Streit.
The Imaging Module 910 can be used in standalone mode—which stores images directly in the EMR system—and EyeSuite mode, where image editing and other features are available. Call (800) 787-5426 or visit haag-streit.com . ■
