Zeiss Launches Atlas 500 for Ocular Surface Analysis
Zeiss has launched its next-generation corneal topographer, the Atlas 500, a device capable of assessing the cornea for various pathologies.
The Atlas 500 utilizes 24 Placido rings and 6,144 measurement points, with 9.3mm of topographic covering (in 42.2D) and a dioptric range up to 95D, to capture relevant corneal properties with high-resolution images and videos under white and blue light conditions, providing a variety of analysis options including elevation (spheric, aspheric, and aspheric-toric), corneal wavefront, optical quality, contact lens fitting, and more, Zeiss shares.
The imaging and measurement device performs through an interface designed for quick and efficient operation, integrated into both the corneal refractive and cataract workflows, according to Zeiss. Additionally, the device stores images, videos, and reports within its acquisition and analysis software and can link to Zeiss Forum, enabling quicker patient throughput.
