It is nearly that time of year again for the kiddos to go back to school, and it’s a perfect time to make sure that everyone in the family has participated in their annual comprehensive vision care. The annual exam is hopefully perceived by patients as something of great value; this will help ensure their continued commitment to their ocular health as well as to the practice. It is a time for interactions with not only their eyecare provider, but also with the staff members who are integral to improving the patient experience as well.

The vision and health of the eye remain ever-so-important in our child and teen populations. These early years are associated with the final stages of ocular growth and development in addition to changes to the eye that relate to the development of refractive error. Anomalies in the eye and visual system can have a significant impact on the performance of a student in school or of a young athlete. This is all the more reason to consider contact lenses for refractive error correction or myopia control (off-label), right?
