NANODROPPER LAUNCHES VOLUME-REDUCING EYEDROP BOTTLE ADAPTOR
Nanodropper, Inc. has officially launched its eyedrop bottle adaptor. The Nanodropper is a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-listed, Class I medical device that is manufactured in the United States. The company says that current eyedrop bottles dispense about five times the liquid that the eye can absorb, meaning that up to 80% of every drop is wasted due to overflow onto the cheek or drainage through the tear ducts. The Nanodropper reduces the size of a typical eyedrop by as much as 70%, stretching the life of an eyedrop bottle by several months, according to the company. The adaptor easily screws on over the tip of most eyedrop bottles, according to Nanodropper. The company says that reducing oversized eyedrops helps reduce cost, decrease waste, and minimize potential side effects of vision-saving treatments. EUCLID SYSTEMS LAUNCHES MAX ORTHOKERATOLOGY LENS
Euclid Systems Corporation recently announced the U.S. launch of its Euclid Max overnight orthokeratology (ortho-k) lens. Approved for overnight wear, Euclid Max builds on the company’s proprietary lens designs and has an 87% first-fit success rate. Euclid Max features a material with a hyper-Dk of 180 (tisilfocon A), without any compromise to lens stability, according to the company. Euclid says that the lens offers consistent reshaping of the cornea at a micron level and resists on-eye flexure and warpage. The company also says that Euclid Max has excellent wettability—without a surface treatment, it can achieve a wetting angle similar to that of other hyper-Dk materials, it minimizes dry spots to improve on-eye vision and comfort, and it resists surface depositing. The material also offers optimized durability to resist warpage, scratches, and chips, according to the company. Call (800) 477-9396 or visit www.euclidsys.com/practitioner . ■

NEUROLENS ANNOUNCES THE nMD2
Neurolens announced the Neurolens Measurement Device, Gen 2 (nMD2), an objective, accurate, and repeatable way to measure binocular vision or, more specifically, eye alignment, according to the company. Neurolens says that this eye tracking system employs more than 10,000 data points per patient and can identify eye misalignment as small as 0.1 prism diopters. The diagnostic information from the nMD2 is used to prescribe Neurolenses with patented Contoured Prism technology, which bring the eyes into alignment, relieving the headaches, neck and shoulder pain, eye strain, dry eye, and dizziness that many people experience when using their near vision, according to the company.
The nMD2 is 80% smaller compared to the first-generation nMD, and Neurolens says that the diagnostic test on the nMD2 is 35% faster. The nMD2 employs state-of-the-art technology such as USB 3.0 cameras to support faster eye tracking and increased fields of vision, allowing for additional testing capabilities and providing a more immersive patient experience, according to the company.
Neurolens is currently taking pre-orders for the nMD2, which will be commercially available July 1, 2021. Visit https://www.neurolenses.com . ■

FDA CLEARS OCULUS PENTACAM AXL WAVE
Oculus, Inc. has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its new Oculus Pentacam AXL Wave. Oculus says that the Pentacam AXL Wave is the latest and most versatile member of the Pentacam family, incorporating intuitive reports based on clinical studies, with guaranteed network compatibility and full operability of all Pentacam software and examinations.
The new Pentacam AXL Wave provides a combination of Scheimpflug-based tomography, optical biometry, wavefront aberrometry of the entire eye, objective refraction, and retroillumination. A new examination routine guides users through the imaging process. The measuring process is straightforward, user-independent, fast, and patient-friendly; the intuitive guide allows both eyes to be examined in less than five minutes, according to the company. Oculus says that these new hardware and software features allow optical performance analysis of the total cornea, total eye, and crystalline lens or implanted intraocular lens (IOL). In addition, Oculus says that the Pentacam AXL Wave comes with a comprehensive, clearly arranged overview display showing all parameters for corneal screening, IOL power selection, IOL power calculation, implantable collamer lens (ICL) selection and calculation, and pupil diameter under dimmed and dark conditions. The standard software package with the IOL calculator and its built-in IOL database provide verification of findings in numerous clinical applications such as corneal refractive surgery, lens refractive surgery, presbyopia solutions, and standard cataract surgery, according to the company.
