IN THE DECEMBER 2023 ISSUE, Dr. Brian Chou hit the nail right on the head. I have been preaching in my lectures for decades that the word “fit” is banned from my office. We prescribe; we use diagnostic lenses; we do diagnostic evaluations of lenses; we charge “initial dispensing fees;” we evaluate the ocular health in the presence of the lens. We don’t fit; we don’t do contact lens checks. Words matter. Well done, Brian!
