The 2025 Global Specialty Lens Symposium (GSLS) offered two poster sessions in the event center—on Jan. 17 and 18—which allowed attendees to learn from even more colleagues about their various research topics. “The backbone of the GSLS meeting is [perhaps] the involvement of many participants adding their clinical and/or scientific input by submitting a poster or free paper. This year we saw a record number of 200 submissions, which is unmet for a meeting the size of GSLS,” explained Eef van der Worp, BOptom, PhD, a member of the GSLS education committee. “As a spinoff, eight poster submissions were hand selected to present their work in a Rapid-Fire session where they gave four-minute presentations that serve as a teaser for their poster.”
The Rapid-Fire Poster session was moderated by Dr. van der Worp and Patrick J. Caroline, also a GSLS education committee member. After each presentation Pat Caroline asked each presenter a single question and/or provided relevant commentary about their poster topic. The posters presented this year are listed here.

In addition, the Free Paper session was held to highlight additional posters. Each presenter was given about eight minutes to get their message across. Attendees were able to interact with the panel during a Q&A at the end. “The Free Paper session hosts the five best studies into specialty related topics,” added Dr. van der Worp.
