March 6, 2024 ViXion has opened presales of its ViXion1 autofocusing eyeglasses in Japan. This allows users to see clearly at all distances regardless of whether they have farsightedness or nearsightedness.
According to the company, the ViXion1 autofocuses on the object in front of the user, adjusting the lenses based on the distance. The company also notes that the ViXion1 can even help normal sighted users see extremely small, close-up work better because it can focus as close as 5cm.
The autofocusing eyeglasses can operate for 10 hours between charges and weighs 55g. A USB-C charger recharges the 150mAh battery in three hours. The glasses connect wirelessly over Bluetooth 5.0, and the smartphone app can calibrate focus, switch between automatic and manual focus modes, and display details such as distance to object and battery level. The glasses are IPX3 rated for water resistance to light splashes. In addition, the distance between pupils can be adjusted between 60mm and 70mm.
