Improved Presbyopic Daily Disposable
CIBA Vision has introduced Focus Dailies Progressives with AquaRelease, an improved version of its daily disposable presbyopic lens that also includes a sustained release, blink-activated moisturizing agent to provide all-day comfort, according to CIBA. The company adds that the AquaRelease moisturizing agent may in particular benefit older wearers, who tend to have poorer tear films and drier eyes.

Easy-to-use Fundus Camera
Nidek, Inc. has released the AFC-210 Pro Photographer, which Nidek says takes true 45-degree images without any cropping in a resolution of 12.8 mega pixels.
The AFC-210 is the first auto-focus, auto-alignment non-mydriatic fundus camera, with an additional macro setting that allows photos of the external structures to document lids and anterior ocular features. It also features a pupil size detector and will switch to the small pupil mode if required. Sanitize and Moisturize Hands
Gulden Ophthalmics offers the GermControl Touchless Hand Sanitizing Unit and its companion GermStar Instant Hand Sanitizing Solution. The unit employs an infrared sensor to dispense disinfecting solution when hands are positioned at the dispensing nozzle. Gulden claims that the unit's touch-less design prevents cross- and recontamination from occurring. Users can adjust the dispensing volume of the disinfecting solution, and the unit's design has a patented gravity dispense so there's no motor to wear out, according to the manufacturer. The dispenser uses refill bags to eliminate evaporation, spills and overfilling.
