New Silicone Hydrogel and Daily Disposable Focus on Comfort

CIBA Vision has launched Air Optix Aqua and Dailies AquaComfort Plus. Air Optix Aqua is a silicone hydrogel lens that features the new Aqua Moisture System, which includes a moisture agent that helps lubricate the lens for initial comfort, a patented lens material that helps maintain moisture by minimizing the rate of lens dehydration, and an ultra-smooth surface with superior wettability and excellent deposit resistance, according to CIBA.

Air Optix Aqua lenses are manufactured in lotrafilcon B and feature a light blue handling tint. Parameters include 8.6mm base curve, 14.2mm diameter, center thickness of 0.08mm at –3.00D, and sphere powers from –0.25D to –8.00D in 0.25D steps, from –8.50D to –10.00D in 0.50D steps, and from +0.25D to +6.00D in 0.25D steps. Dailies AquaComfort Plus is a daily disposable lens that features Triple Action Moisture, including hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) to lubricate the lens, polyethylene glycol (PEG) to moisturize the lens and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) to refresh the lens throughout the day with each blink.

Dailies AquaComfort Plus lenses are manufactured in nelfilcon A (69 percent water). New Disposable Lens Line Available

Ocu-Ease Optical Products, Inc., is now distributing its Elite Series of disposable lenses.

The Elite Sphere lens features base curves of 8.8mm and 8.4mm with a diameter of 14.2mm and sphere powers from +8.00D to –12.00D. The lenses are available in a blister pack of six lenses.

The Elite Aberration Control (AC) lens features base curves of 8.3mm and 8.6mm with a diameter of 14.2mm and sphere powers from +8.00D to –12.00D. The lenses are available in a blister pack of six lenses.

The Elite AC Daily lens is a daily disposable lens featuring an 8.6mm base curve, 14.2mm diameter and sphere powers from +4.00D to –8.00D. The lenses are available in a 30- or 90-lens pack.

The Elite AC Toric lens features a base curve of 8.7mm and a diameter of 14.5mm. Sphere powers range from +4.00D to –6.00D with cylinder powers of –1.00D and –1.75D and around-the-clock axes in 10-degree increments. The lenses are available in a blister pack of six lenses.
