Supplement for Diabetic Patients
Bausch & Lomb has developed Ocuvite DF Eye Vitamin Supplement, which the company says is specifically formulated to help meet the eye health needs of diabetic patients. Ocuvite DF contains the antioxidant genistein, which in combination with other essential nutrients and antioxidants such as alpha-lipoic acid combats free radicals and helps reduce oxidative stress commonly associated with diabetes, according to B&L. The supplement also contains vitamins C, D, B-1, B-6 and niacin.
B&L recommends Ocuvite DF for patients who have diabetes whose diets aren't fortified with antioxidants and for patients who are susceptible to damage from free radicals due to high blood sugar. Patients with diabetes are at an increased risk of vision loss, which is thought to be linked in large part to oxidative stress, according to B&L. Call (800) 828-9030 or visit www.bausch.com.
