ALCON ADDS GEMSTONE COLLECTION TO AIR OPTIX COLORS
Alcon recently introduced its new Air Optix Colors Gemstone Collection of color contact lenses in three new colors—True Sapphire, Amethyst, and Turquoise—to naturally enhance any eye color. The Air Optix Colors line is now available in a total of 12 colors also including Gray, Blue, Green, Pure Hazel, Brown, Sterling Gray, Brilliant Blue, Gemstone Green, and Honey.
Alcon also launched a two-count pack for all Air Optix Colors, allowing eyecare professionals (ECPs) to introduce more patients to colored lenses, with or without vision correction. The company says that this smaller size pack gives patients a more flexible option to play with eye color for part-time wear and to try multiple colors.
To support practices in rolling out the new Gemstone Collection to their patients, Alcon will provide updated social and online media assets on the Alcon Vision Care Marketing Portal. Alcon says that the new materials can be shared on practice websites and social media channels to drive patient awareness of and interest in Air Optix Colors lenses to help bring them into the office. ECPs can also speak to their Alcon sales representative for in-office Air Optix Colors materials to help spark patient interest. Patients can virtually try on the colors before coming to the office through the Air Optix Colors Color Studio. Call (800) 241-5999 or visit www.myalcon.com . ■

TOPCON RECEIVES 510(K) CLEARANCE FOR DRI OCT TRITON SERIES
Topcon Medical Systems (TMS) announced that its DRI OCT Triton Series has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Topcon says that the DRI OCT Triton features easy image capture and a 1 micron, 1050nm light source with a scanning speed of 100,000 A-scans/second.
In addition to anterior segment scanning, the DRI OCT Triton can visualize deeper pathology, rapidly penetrating ocular tissues such as the choroid and even the sclera, without being obscured by media opacities or hemorrhage, according to the company. In addition, TMS says that the DRI OCT Triton can visualize from vitreous through to sclera at the press of a single button with high sensitivity and speed. The instantaneous capture of a high-density data cube, comprised of 512 B-scans, reduces interpolation between slices and allows the most revealing imagery, according to the company. OCULUS PENTACAM NOW MEASURES SAGITTAL HEIGHT
Oculus, Inc. now offers a Cornea Scleral Profile (CSP) report with Oculus Pentacam. With the new CSP Report, the Pentacam now measures sagittal height, a parameter needed for scleral lens fitting, according to the company. The measuring process takes 250 Scheimpflug images covering a diameter of up to 18mm. Oculus says that all images of a CSP scan are taken from the same visual axis without the need for eye movement. The usual Pentacam data are recorded as well and populated into the displays already familiar to Pentacam users.
The CSP scan is a tear film-independent measurement with automatic release; this means that the values from the new CSP Report are as reproducible as all other data measured with the Pentacam, according to the company. A link to external fitting software for scleral lenses is available.
This software module is available for the Pentacam only and is subject to a charge. Contact your Oculus sales consultant for detailed pricing information, call (888) 284-8004, or visit www.pentacam.com or www.oculususa.com . ■
