Dr. Fadel explains that the toll that this has taken on the Lebanese people is proving tough this time around—due to a lack of moral and economic resources as well as the pandemic. She adds that “specialty lenses change lives,” so this situation provides the perfect opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to that.
According to Dr. Fadel, their goal is to assist both specialty contact lens patients and practitioners. They will be involving specialty contact lens manufacturers as well as equipment manufacturers. They are also asking colleagues to assist by donating products to those affected or by donating money through a GoFundMe at https://gf.me/u/yzcp8c . ■
