Alcon Introduces Monthly Water Gradient Multifocal
Alcon has launched Total30 Multifocal, a monthly water gradient multifocal contact lens designed to address contact lens dropout due to lens dryness, discomfort, and visual acuity issues for wearers over the age of 40.
Total30 Multifocal utilizes the company’s proprietary Water Gradient Technology designed to deliver nearly 100% water at the surface of the lens, according to the company, which works to combat issues related to digital device usage.
Additionally, the lenses employ the Precision Profile multifocal optical design also found in Alcon’s Dailies Total1 Multifocal and Air Optix plus Hydraglyde Multifocal CLs, providing clear visual acuity at all distances and achieving 96% fit success in two easy steps, shares Alcon. The contact lenses are available with a full power range of +6.00D to –10.00D (in 0.25D steps) and three add powers (low, medium, high).
Bausch + Lomb Launches Line of Specialty Eyecare Products
Bausch + Lomb has introduced Lumify Eye Illuminations, a line of hypoallergenic specialty eyecare products designed to cleanse, nourish, and brighten the area of and around the eyes.
The Lumify Eye Illuminations product line consists of a 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water and Eye Makeup Remover, a no-rinse, pH-balanced formula that includes hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and niacinamide; the Nourishing Lash & Brow Serum, a formula featuring a complex of peptides, biotin, and hyaluronic acid designed to produce fuller-looking lashes and brows; and the Hydra-Gel Brightening Eye Cream, a blend of niacinamide, vitamins C and E, caffeine, and hyaluronic acid designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, shares Bausch + Lomb.
According to the company, the products are free of harsh, irritating ingredients like fragrance, alcohol, sulfates, mineral oil, prostaglandins, polyethylene glycol, parabens, phthalates, and polyhexamethylene biguanide.
Oculus Inc. and Luvo Launch IPL and Radio Frequency Therapy
Oculus Inc. has partnered with Luvo to launch the Luvo Lucent and Darwin with intense pulsed light (IPL) and radio frequency therapy.
Offered by both the Lucent IPL and Darwin multi-modality workstation, the IPL therapy delivers energy at several different wavelengths to treat multiple conditions, reducing the need for eyecare professionals to refer patients to external providers, according to the company. Darwin applies focused and uniform thermal energy to heat the target area, Oculus Inc. shares, assisted by the Thermal Radio Frequency (Refresh RF) handpiece included with the Darwin workstation.
