Alcon announced that Julie M. Brewer will join the company and its executive leadership team as senior vice president, president, global franchises, effective July 9. With more than 3 decades of leadership in pharma, med tech, capital equipment, and digital healthcare, Brewer brings extensive experience in building high-performance teams and leading businesses with a strong focus on strategic planning, global market development, product development, and commercialization and commercial operations. She will be based in Fort Worth, Texas.

Brewer joins Alcon from Baxter International, where she was president of care and connectivity solutions. Prior to that, she spent nearly 17 years at Medtronic in a variety of senior leadership roles, most recently as president, cardiovascular and diagnostic services. Brewer began her career at Allergan.
