It is my pleasure to introduce the fourth-annual edition of Specialty Contact Lens Case Reports, a collection that continues to highlight innovation, skill, and patient-centered care.
In these pages, you will find 13 real-world cases submitted by experienced specialty contact lens practitioners. Each case offers a window into the decision-making process behind lens selection and design, the problem-solving required when challenges arise, and the impact these interventions have on patients’ quality of life.
As in previous years, the scope of cases spans scleral lenses for compromised corneas, orthokeratology for myopia control, custom soft lenses for irregular astigmatism, and other unique designs that meet the diverse needs of patients. They showcase how specialty contact lenses are not simply a “last resort” for difficult cases but instead a proactive treatment option that continues to evolve.
I want to extend my thanks to the authors who contributed their expertise and time to this project, in addition to the sponsors that made this possible. These cases remind us that every fitting is an opportunity to restore or improve vision.
Whether you are a seasoned specialty lens fitter or seeking to expand your skills, I hope you find inspiration in the cases that follow.
Best regards,
Craig
